Clear Lake
Last July, I spent a couple of nights up at Clear Lake. I have not processed any of the images until this week, probably because of the cloudless skies at sunrise and sunset. Most of these in the linked gallery are hand blends of two images for dof and exposure, or a Zerene stack for the fields of flowers. As always, thanks for looking and any CC is welcome.

Hi Doug,

I love your "Paintbrush Field" shot from the gallery. I can appreciate the above image because you composed it well with the crop, and the late afternoon lighting screams "alpine bliss."

Great set Doug! My favorite is #12, great light on the mountains with nice dark grey clouds. Also particularly liked the Paintbrush Fields and of course Rica the Flower Child. Is she a wire-haired pointing griffon?

This one here is also quite nice, great detail throughout (better seen on the larger version) and the sun shimmering on the lake adds interest to the water.

Beautiful, Doug. The posted image made me want to be there (and put it on my to do list). In the gallery, I especially liked the 1st and 7th images.

Where, exactly, is Clear Lake?

Thanks for the comments; they're appreciated. I'm still waiting for the colorful sunrise or sunset there. This summer
Scott, Rica is a German Wirehaired Pointer, so she definitely has that Griffon in her blood.
Howard, Clear Lake is one ridge over from Ice Lake Basin. A road takes off the S Fork Mineral Creek Rd northwest of Silverton, and goes up to the lake which requires high clearance, but not necessarily 4WD. Two summers ago, I was at the falls below the lake when a BMW sedan drove up. Beyond the falls to the lake the road gets a little rockier.

An unexpected group of images to be sure. But quite welcome! It's never too early to dwell upon wildflowers.
My favorites are the wonderful bouquets you captured in #'s 3, 6, 8, 9, & 11. I agree with Scott re: the one you posted here. It's less than ideal when you have clear skies, but you managed to overcome it for the most part.
Better luck this year!

Wow, you sure hit the bloom at the right time. Great set of images.
