Still life
Visited my favourite boar spot on Saturday nad was not disappointed. Found this fellow in a clearing with a couple of others. Normally sneaking up on them does not work but the wind was with me.

5DIII, 400 2.8 + TC.

Very nice

Shows how good their coat is as a camouflage colour in this open environment

Neil

May the wind be with you more frequently. Great result.

Thanks guys. Colour wise it is probably just my crap processing and cheap monitor

But I am now getting quite sick of brown, don't mind brown critters but the brown grass, brown trees and brown everything is getting tired.

Nice one Neil. Looks like someone has been trimming the top of its left ear

Interestingly this fellow only has the one eye too. Will try to find one with the right side for next time. Thanks Bob.

Hi Neil, like the pose & placement, although I'm surprised at the IQ at 800, looks a little crunchy, but that might just be the downsizing for web? Why go for the combo rather than the 500, did you not have it to hand? Look forward to more. :toast:

Steve, just took the 400 with me as I am playing with it at the moment and sometimes the 500 is too long, if they do not see you and wander in your direction... does happen!

I have never worked out sharpening for the web, looks fine large.

looks fine large - I'm sure it does.

Seriously I know what you mean about subjects moving closer, that's why the combo of the 1DMKIV & 1DX works so well. Are you going back out this weekend?

Well done :toast:

Cracking shot Neil again showing the boar in its habitat. The 400mm is certainly giving you the results.
