Well, I had a fantastic time away in Scotland with Colin & family (once again many thanks for the invite Colin ).
Both Colin and I had became slightly...whats the word...obsessed shall I say with trying to photograph Barn Swallows as we had some nesting pairs on and around the farmhouse we stayed in. Impossibly hard to photograph these little fellas which made us even more determined! I have MANY out takes as they move so fast! I haven't finished going through them all yet but this is one of my favourites so far. Would have prefered it portrait way round but I had been trying to get some wing movement as it landed so needed the landscape format. I'm sure Colin will be along later with one of his (and will no doubt show mine up! haha).
I might stick a few of the outtakes on some webspace later and link to it so you can have a look

Hi Richard
nice capture. like the post do not care to much about the BG. Why do you not Crop it to Portrait?

You know, I actually had it in mind to crop to portrait when I took it but in the excitment of going through my pictures today I just knocked it out in a hurry and forgot about the portrait crop. I'd probably have picked up on it more if he wasn't looking across the frame
