I really enjoyed our Friday night experiment with star photography at the gathering. Great weekend with great friends. Here is one that I processed tonight.
Tom, it was great to get out for at least a few shots this morning. Thanks for showing me that precip totals link! Looks like a beautiful Friday night at Steele Creek under the stars. Nicely done.

Thank you for being such a great guide and chauffeur. I like your shot, and had fun trying it myself. I am looking forward to seeing many more from the gathering.

Nice one Tom. Early indications from everyone are that the gathering was a big success. Glad you all had fun.

It was nice meeting you Tom, thanks for being such an enthusiastic guide. That was fun trying the star pictures. I didn't get anything like that with my camera no matter how I process it. I think that would be a good location for star trails if the bluff would get a little moonlight on it.

I bet that was a fun evening.
Great shot too.
Ok, here is how I think you need to do this next time. Have some set up 30 yards behind this spot and do the scene with someone else with tripod here that you light paint.
So you would get this scene with a photographer in it. I think that would be awesome.
