Canon shooters who want to go FF have a great deal available right now... Canon has dropped the price of the 6D to $1999 and has also kicked off a short $100 rebate from 4/14 through 4/27. I hunted around and found that B&H is offering the 6D for $1899 delivered with a Lexar 16GB UHS-I SD card bundled in. Make sure you get UHS-I enabled SD cards if you spring for the 6D, non UHS-I cards will be maddenly slow, the buffer will get hammered. You have been warned, lol!
The beloved 5D Mark II is officially gonzo off the Canon site now, but the 6D is a fine replacement, so if you're wondering what the differences are, there's only a few which I'll list. Otherwise, you needn't read the rest of this overly wordy post. But one last comment regarding the new 5D3 and its higher price: having owned it for 6 months, the 5D3 is truly worth every penny to me because I also shoot events and weddings... it's two best features are that incredible AF system, it's truly nuts (I think it could track a housefly in-flight, lol) and it's crazy clean imagery at ISO 3200. Neither of these features matters for that tripod-mounted sunrise at Zion NP, so the 6D is a great landscape body for under $2K. Features:
The 6D has:
-Slightly faster FPS @ 4.5 vs 3.9 on the 5D2
-11 AF points vs 9 on 5D2
-DIGIC 5 processor vs DIGIC 4
-Built in wireless: you could potentiall shoot to a laptop with no SD card installed, or even to a wireless network.
-GPS
-On-board HDR (I prefer to do that in post, but it's there)
-Multiexposure (see previous comment)
-FF for $1899, not too shabby
-SD cards with UHS-I thankfully. The 6D does NOT use CF, FYI. They aren't as fast as these new screaming UDMA 7 CF Lexar cards (I use them in my 5D3), but with the 6D supporting UHS-I the shots-before-buffer is quite decent. And the 6D won't cook if you shoot video like the 5D2 could.
-Speaking of video: the 6D does have the newer features of the 5D3 for video such as the continuous shooting up to 29:59 with no 12-minute/4GB limitation, and it shoots 60fps at 720p that you can easily knock down to 24fps and get decent slow-motion footage.
-Last, it's 20.2MP, not 21.2MP like the 5D2. Not enough to even make a difference IMO unless you print 40x60.
UPDATE: EVEN BETTER DEAL!
Best Buy has the 6D with 24-105mm for $2198! NO CLUE how long this last, but here you go!
I've been watching the 6D. The list price has dropped $100, I think. I just haven't had the gumption to pull the trigger, yet. The one thing that is off-putting to me is the 11 AF points. I'm constantly moving the AF point around and I wish my 1D3 had more. (it has 19 selectable points). I want a 24x105 too, and getting it bundled with a body is a great deal, especially if the body is on sale.

I took a chance and bought mine on Amazon which has worked out fine and came with the Canon USA warranty... The Amazon price seems a little fluid, but I've seen it for under $1800. I would not by from them unless it says, shipped from and sold by Amazon, as they also seem to feature it for sale by some Camera places I've not heard of. Right now it's going for $2398. with the 24-105 lens..
