I took this at Lost Valley during the gathering. I now know I need a light tent and probably some extension tubes.

Jan, if you positioned yourself specifically to get these shadow details as compositional elements then you are off to a fantastic start in my opinion. One suggestion is to have your flower "supported" by including (and showing) its stem running out of frame (this is my personal preference). Nice one, keep up the good work.

Jan nice first attempt, your focus is great. I agree with Wayne on the stem. Did you use a black background or is this a mask?

Thanks guys. This is a single image with a mask on a fill layer. I agree on the stem.
