Was up at 3 this morning for a trip to Hawksbill Crag for sunrise. What I saw was nothing less than incredible, as the morning unfolded. I liked this image the best. Easy to see why this location is photographed so much - truly an inspiration to all who visit. Happy Earth Day!
Classic Bill Dark image, great comp, exposure, and a compelling image to look at and look at and...you get the idea. Those of us who know the area seldom get to see the diverse color here of the developing trees.

Bill, you have captured the layers of green that are only evident for a few days in early spring. Thanks for sharing.

Man, this is a Bill Dark classic. I don't recall seeing an image from the Crag in spring but if I have, it couldn't have been nearly as good as this. Beautiful work Bill.

This very nice Bill, love it!
Looking at the 'crag' from this POV makes it look rather precarious..
Does anyone actually stand there? I'd think twice myself
Love that place and you captured the morning light beautifully!

I like the depth, the mixed greens, and the morning sun coming around the corner to illuminate the crag.

Nice job Bill. Great technique of getting the light just right on the bluff and the trees.

I like the lines but the color of those baby leaves is a close second to fall colors. Beautiful job. It looks like we just missed it bay a week for our gathering.

Thanks for all the nice comments. It was a nice way to celebrate Earth Day.
Howard - yes, people do actually stand out there, but you should not be afraid of heights, be vertigo-free, and be in a clear state of mind. While there have been some tragic accidents over the years, shooting the scene is much more dangerous than standing on the crag. The footing is sloped on loose gravel, and you are standing about a foot from the edge of the bluff. Me? I prefer to sit down and experience the moment with my sweetie pie...Yep, life is good!
