I was looking for an image from Stud Horse Point, and came across some images from January 2011 that I had not processed. Let me know what you think of this one; nits big and small welcome. A larger image is provided. Thanks.

Doug, the 2nd image is very interesting. The 1st image, however, is bothering me. Is the sky the subject, or it is it the centered hoodoo? The chopped off formation on the right side is distracting. There's so much going on in that image, it's hard to focus on one thing as the subject.

Love that second image Doug, the great shapes, the subtle colors in the sandstone and the soft light. Very well seen. The first one is composed nicely but it lacks the little bit of extra punch normally seen in your images. It might simply be the lack of light hitting the rocks.
The 2nd one is really sweet with its subtle lighting.

Thanks for the feedback. A redo of #1. I brightened the foregound and hoodoos and added a little contrast. A small crop of the sky. Kinda 50/50, but I went with what felt good, at least to me.
Your repost of #1 really improved it a lot, IMO. I can understand the dead center placement in relation to that nice sky, and it doesn't really bother me.
Of course, I like the composition of #2.
As a thought, if you find yourself back here for an overnight, a post-sunset/pre-sunrise exposure really does wonders with the expanse of white rock.
