Came across this stunning Roe buck yesterday morning at the back of the village. There are several roe deer who can be found on the village outskirts and who are quite used to humans and this buck was no exception as he let me take his photo using a bare 300mm lens. It looks as though he has some whiskers but they are just coat hairs and he must have been grooming before I came along. His antlers look pretty sharp don't they? It is a shame I could not isolate them but he was in a hollow with a banking at his back.
Many thanks for the comments on my female grouse image, greatly appreciated.
Better Nick, I appreciate you cannot darken it too much without it looking odd. I would however mask out the darkening on the deer to make him stand out more.
Nick I do think that the second one is improved just adding a little more guts to a fine capture the animal looks very relaxed even with you using a 300ml lens.
