Last month, we were in Australia for a couple of weeks. One of the places that we visited is "Natural Bridge," which isn't too far outside of Brisbane (presuming the roads haven't been closed - that's another story). It's a beautiful little place, and very different from most any other natural bridge that I've seen in the States. In the States, most of the natural bridges are aeolian arches. This bridge was carved by water boring through a layer of basalt and then undermining some softer material below it. It creates a very beautiful and surreal setting!
Really like the image. Great job of capturing the beauty and atmosphere of this place. My understanding of the difference between a bridge and an arch is that bridges have been formed by water which is not the case with arches. Most of the natural bridges we see in the US don't have water running beneath them anymore even though that's what formed them.
