Spot-tailed quoll (c)
Image taken on: Wed Apr 3, 2013 18:04
Focal length: 300 mm
Shutter speed: 1/320 sec
Aperture: f/4.5
ISO speed: 800
White-balance: Auto
Flash: No
Camera make: NIKON CORPORATION
Camera model: D600
Lens: 300.0 mm f/2.8
Exposure mode: Aperture priority
Exposure compensation: 0 EV
Metering mode: Centre Weighted Average

This animal is known by various names, tiger quoll is probably the most common, but as I can see no resemblance to a tiger I prefer spot-tailed. They are, however, impressive creatures, apparently able to bring down up to five times their own body weight, This particular individual is part of a captive breeding programme in Australia and is used to the presence of humans. The apparently fierce expression is, in fact, only a yawn.

Thanks for looking.

Lovely expression, I think a lower POV (if possible) would have enhanced it, but as is still very nice :toast: :toast: :toast: :toast:

'Its good when your wife lets you take pics on holiday'

Too true, John. In our case my wife does the videos and I do the stills. It is all very well until you come to something like a platypus, where her shots are far better than mine. Good job you can't post videos on this site
