Western Washington Prairies Shoot (May 18th)
Thanks Catherine, Steve and Larry for coming down to see and photograph our prairies. Hopefully the flowers were adequate, since the weather precluded landscapes.

I'm posting a few of the images I like from the day.

Excellent variety and wonderful images Dennis. Sorry I couldn't be there. From the samples you posted it must be beautiful, especially this time of year.

Thank you for hosting the shoot Dennis! I had a great time. My system has been down for the last few days but I'll post a few of my images soon.

Great shots, all, Dennis. I really enjoyed meeting you. Also enjoyed the outing and compliment you on showing us some great sites within the prairie region around Littlerock. Your expertise and fund of knowledge on the area is amazing. I learned a lot and had great fun shooting with our small group. Here are a few of my images from the day:

Lovely shots....all. I like seeing Catherine's American Goldfinch shot. The male's winged display is terrific. Ken Smith

Here's a couple more from the Prairie and from Dennis's backyard feeders:

Nootka Rose. Dennis says this is our PNW native wild rose.

Not a great day for landscapes, but I did one anyway: shows the open grassland with fir and Gerry Oak.

And the last one-- more Goldfinches at the feeder in Dennis's yard.

I love the composition in your rose shot, Catherine! I always get caught up in the detail and forget about moving back a bit.
