Female of the species
She took some getting, the male tends to pose at the hole but this lady dashes straight in after a ninja arrival. This chicks have gotten loud but as I am on holiday for 10 days I fear I will not see the main event :frown:

Wonder if they have woodpeckers in Cyprus?

Sums up the weather nicely Neil, looks a bit bedraggled. Happy with the rotation or does it need a 1.4 tweak?

Tree is old Steve, might not be there next year...although of all the GSW nests I watched last year this is the only one active. So I hope it stands!

Beak is full of grubby stuff, some of the other shots are pretty disgusting, more when I have chance. ;) As for weather it is about 4° out there.

Personally I am just amazed that anything is able to bring chicks off at the moment. Cracking shot Neil.

Cracking GSW shot Neil. The wet feathers make the red look like blood!

Nice one... the wet plumage makes the image, shows that they have to care for their young no matter what the elements throw at them....
