Suggestions on spots in northern New Mexico to spend time shooting landscapes(on way to Utah/Oregon).

Thanks in advance,

My favorite place is Bisti Wilderness, lots of great sandstone formations and very few people. There is also Chaco Canyon with large Anasazi ruins. I have some photos of Bisti on my website, the link is in the signature block, go to the Desert gallery.

You might also want to post this in the RMNP Forum, you will get great suggestions from the locals.

How much time do you have and which route will you be taking?

Coming from Palo duro Canyon near Amarillo. HWY40. Bisiti looks right for my 1 1/2 to 2 day stopover.

Here's a map of the Bisti that should be quite helpful.

Take a compass or a GPS. When you get out there, it is VERY easy to get turned around!!

Bandelier National Monument is interesting and it is not quite as far off the beaten path as Chaco. I agree with Palo Duro Canyon as a great spot too.
