(view larger photo) Overlooking the Hamma Hamma river valley leading to either Jefferson or Washington. Mt. I guess i should know. I think the setting sun in the b/g may make a pretty nice colorful shot. Your thoughts are appreciated. :)

Beautiful composition with that old tree root in the foreground, Cliff. A good spot.
I love this comp Cliff. There's a lot of interest in the old roots as a foreground element with the valley and mountain in the distance. Like Dennis said, a good spot.
Wonderfully unconventional, I love the cascade of roots in the foreground. It makes for an eye-catching first impression and then can meander through the scenery to the distant peak. PNW moody, too. Yep, a try at a sunset shot looks promising.
Lots to take in with this beautiful image. I love the way your eyes take in the old tree stump/root and then continue back through the valley into the distant mountains. Had you thought of maybe lightening up the valley a tad?
Thank you for the comments. And Craig, thank you for the suggestion, i had metered the sky with my light meter, and liked the way it came out and didnt do any touch up on it, other then dust bunnies, but i will play with it some and see how it works out. This is a large rock outcrop, and the little magenta flowers were all over the moss that covered the whole thing. Very pretty spot.
