White Throated Kingfisher
Another interesting bird from my recent trip to Ranthambore. Both this KF and the Oriole were under the trees in low in the early morning light.

I think this is a species that I know either as the White-breasted kingfisher or Smyrna kingfisher, but what's in a name? Whatever you choose to call it, it is a cracking portrait. I love the perch as well, although I might be tempted to clone out that bit to the left of the bird.

Thanks guys.

David, just going on what my guide called it and also what it said in my birds of India book. I agree with your cloning suggestion and when I have time......
