Gannet At Sea
Hi Everybody!
It's been a while since I visited, posted or commented here. I've been very busy with house extensions and alterations since last October. Anyway my Wife bought me a suprise boat trip around Ramsey Island, and Grassholm for my birthday. Wow, where do you point you're lens, lol. Here is a Gannet at rest on the sea.

Canon EOS 5D MK3
Canon 400mm f5.6 'L'
Handheld on a moving boat
Processed in CS6 and Lightroom 4
Fullframe.

Regards to you all!
Paul. :wavey:

Welcome back! Very nicely done Paul, especially considering you were on a boat with a 400 f5.6! :toast: :toast: :toast: It does look a bit bright on my monitor though, I'd back off the exposure a little.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for ur comments. The light was extremely harsh, and controling exposure, especially the whites was a nightmare.

Looks fine on my Mac screen :toast: :toast:

.... Ramsey Isle, takes me back a few years when a I did a stint of voluntary wardening there in the 1970s when it was an RSPB reserve - I recall it featured in the "Country boy" series mastered by John King featuring his son, a very very young Simon King acting as a Townie and learning about the countryside from the pipe smoking Jack Hargreaves........

Looks great on my lappie Paul and welcome back. The whites have been handled very well and I do not think i have seen a shot of a gannet sat in the water before. Stunning colours.

A bit bright on my screen as well, but at least you seem to have got the whites under control. No mean feat in such conditions.

Agree with, Nick, very nice to see a Gannet sat on the sea for a change. Smart image, Paul.
