The Lady and her offspring.....
Lady orchid and hybrid monkey orchids - more for interest than critique, its a comparison shot that I was after rather than an isolated flower spike

Having tried to understand the differences of the hybrids one feature stands out for me - the "feet" are really well defined on the pure Monkey orchids but absent or at best stumpy on the hybrids. Colour is very variable in all forms, but the hybrids also tend to be stronger more robust plants like the Lady orchid

Mike

Ideal comparison image serves the purpose well.

Very good illustration of the differences between the three, Mike.

Interesting comparison shot. Were the flower heads stacked? You seem to have managed an excellent depth of field.

Too windy for stacking, and I haven't really got to grips with post processing stacking yet !

Old fashioned trial and error on the aperture - one of the plusses for digital over 36 shot film.......
