Barn owl 3
Just starting to get some closer shots of Barny although this one is a 50% crop. It appears to be single and is roosting in a tree hole at the back of what is a new farm for me.

I am optimistic for the future here as the farmer and his young family are dead keen on their wildlife. His wife and daughter have joined me in the landy a couple of times to watch Barny in the late evenings and a framed print of it is hanging in their dining room.

Nice work Bob but closer is what you need, some noise visible in the barnie.

Thanks Neil. Yes there is a little noise in the Barny which I took out of the BG. It was late in the day and HH ISO 800 was needed for a safe shutter speed

There is no better way of conservation that I know of than making local people proud of their wildlife, doubly so if they are farmers. You are doing a great job there Bob, and I am sure the shots will only get better.

Cracking photo Bob. Good luck with your project with this one. :wavey: :toast: :toast: :toast: Its good to hear you've got some good support from the landowner. A good relationship with them will do wonders and an oft neglected aspect of this game in the press.

Looks like the waiting is bearing fruit Bob - shame you've had to crop as it has brought up a little noise as mentioned. PS., Have you applied any sharpening ?
