Tri-colored Heron
Another image from my brief visit to Florida last month. Perhaps not my best bird photo, but I really like colors of this bird.

I've been busy , busy, busy. My wife and I just bought a new house in Tualatin, so we are getting our current house "designed to sell", which is taking time from my photography. However, the great thing about the new house is I'll have a 12x16 room for just my digital darkroom and photo stuff, and my wife gets a room that is slightly larger for her glass work. So, my presence in the forum will be sporadic through July until after we are moved and our current house has sold, but after we get moved in I'm hoping to really concentrate on photography for awhile. Of course, with the new mortgage I won't be able to afford to go anywhere to shoot photos, but dang if I won't have a dedicated workspace!

Beautiful bird, especially the eye! Too bad it would not jump out of there and give you a good showing. Nonetheless, it is a lovely bird and a good photo of it!

Very nice! How about considering cropping more tightly around the head only, focusing on that sharp and eye-catching part? Sandy

Sandy, I think you are right, a some cropping off the top would help focus the image more on the bird.

Great image, Ryan! Cropping off of the top does help. I do find those out of focus leaves on the right that spike into the bird's body a little distracting but other than that I'm all over it!!

Congrats on the house and the image!

Ryan,
Nice catch except for those leaves that Geoff was referring to. Congrats on the house. Were almost neighbors. (Tigard?)
