Chasing in Colorado
Spent Sat and Mon chasing storms on the plains--lots of fun and good to see some old friends, only the diehards chase Colorado on a day with meager tornado threat. There actually was a tornado on the storm I chased Monday--but it was a landspout and i must have been driving or in the wrong vantage point when it happened cause i missed it... :frown:
Lots of pretty storms though--see my blog for the rest!

Well done, Stan! Who needs Oklahoma and Kansas?

Outstanding images and commentary on your blog, Stan. Seeing your images makes me homesick - I grew up in Burlington on the eastern plains. Keep chasing (safely, of course).

Just curious, do storm chasers have the vehicles Rhino-coated to protect from hail stones

So much drama here Stan. There's something special about the windmill shot and I really appreciate the beauty of your posted image.

I checked out the blog a few minutes ago Stan and this was one of my favorites from the blog, glad you gave it more attention. The lighting in the higher parts of this cloud really add a lot to the drama. Very well composed.

Whoa, this one is superb and easily my favorite from your series. The skies are absolutely perfect and the farmscape leads one's eye right up to those skies. Glad you kept the 'development' subtle as more and more folks tend to dramatize these storm images into the realm of fantasy. Is that a beam of light or a dust spout of sorts coming down from (going up into?) the clouds?
As far as I'm concerned, this is one of your best from this year's storm season. Real glad you got to meet up with some kindred spirits, as well.

Another great set Stan. I like this shot for all the wonderful color in the clouds. I think my favorite is the Glowing Fields image, such great light!

Stan, the image you posted here is my pick of your blog set. Really nice cloud structure and color to look at. I like that you were off the road a ways too in that I think the foreground is better.

Another excellent series, Stan. And, "Beauty and the Beast" really has an immediate impact for me. Great work, my friend.
