I have been looking at TPE to figure out where to be the next few evenings. Sedona is likely since it is close to home. This is from last night.

I've been working on ideas most of the week.

Sedona has been a thought and nice shot out there Doug - looks like you got that lined up well. For Saturday night it looks like near or after Sunset. Is the nearby fire creating a bit of glow? Dont know if I have the energy to make that drive this weekend but do watch your email if I do.

More likely, I am looking at areas around Death Valley (2 hours away) or maybe Zion - maybe get out to O-Point via the East Rim trailhead (2.5 hours away). In both cases they would be big light / moonset shots nearer the 4:00-4:30 am pacific time max. Whats entering into all these thoughts is the issue of going alone - I've done Badwater alone in the past but its super-surreal at 3:00 am. But walking about Zion about that time is also worrisome.

Anyone in southern Utah?

Heading out to Aguereberry Point in Death Valley for moonrise at sunset, with targets in the valley after.

Happy Shooting everyone!
