It sure sounded like a good idea when I read the catalog, but in practice I'm not getting much from it. The instructions that come with it don't offer a lot of help beyond assembly, so could some kind soul explain how it is used? I replaced the flat base in my Gitzo 1348 with the new unit. It is held tightly by the legs. Then I threaded the Wimberley WH200 II on top of it. Well, I can use the hand grip on the bottom of the unit to loosen and tighten the levelor, but that is a pretty clunky feature for a Gitzmo product. The black knobbed lever on the side is useless. It either flaps back and forth or takes a gorilla to get it to move. Moving it either way seems to have no effect on friction in the levelling components.
