Sorry, I'm still crawling about on my hands and knees! Change of camera body to lighten my load slightly but at the expense of having to stick my thumb over the viewfinder when in live-view mode. All DSLRs with live-view should have the dedicated blind shutter per my E-3 rather than a silly bit of plastic!
If wondering why I use such a big lens rather than my 50mm macro for most of these orchid images, its a matter of geometry, I can get a better (perceived lower) angle of view from the longer minimum focus ability of a 150mm over the macro lens

I am always astounded how nature moulded plants to look like animals despite the fact plants have no eyes and thereofre cannot see their intended form.... amazing.

Best of the bunch so far for me, Mike. The soft lighting works well and the BG is spot on, one of my fav Orchids too.
Agree this is certainly the best so far.... the other advantage of longer lenses is the improved background due to the reduced angle of view... My favourite lens for imaging orchids is my 500/4... Your DoF is very good for an aperture of f2.8... shame it has lost its anthers, I have only ever come across one with both intact and didn't have my camera...
