Tiger, tiger...
One I found from 2008 in the B section. Initially I much have been put off by the tree but the more I look the more I like the half hidden tiger. Really must go back there.

5D, 100-400. Ranthambor.

Looks ok but seems to be asking for a vertical crop somehow. Just my wierd artistic desires  :toast: :toast:

Great menacing look and I think the half hidden treatment does work, but there is too much "nothing" LHS - a tighter crop for me

Hi Neil, know what you mean, but just the vertical line through the the tree, keeping as much as you can, your then then IMHO. :toast:

Forget zoos, this is always special. :toast: :toast:

Neil

Menacing power given half a chance agree with Mike.

I like the shot as is Neil as the space adds to its habitat.

Tigers are special animals but I would give my right arm to get one decent image of a Scottish Wildcat. It is rarer and much harder to find let alone photograph than the tiger or any of the big cats and it is in the UK.

Works for me as posted, I don't mind the room on the LHS. A very good find, Neil.

Well as a stock image I like to have shots with space, useful for text to be added. In this case I also like to show habitat, otherwise it could just be a zoo shot ;)

The Ranthambhor experience can be done on a budget John, flights to Delhi are not impossible, train to Ranth cost pennies (1st class) and hotels range from 1star to 5 stars, your jeep or canter picks you up wherever you stay! Park fees are also very low compared to those African safaris.

As for wildlcats, yes Germany has them too but you need alot of time and patience. ;)

Thanks all

As is for me Neil although a square crop could be interesting. Ranthambhore is a very special place and I really enjoyed my own encounters there, however it will never replace Ndutu in my affections

Nearly missed this one Neil bet it was great to be in a position to get a shot like this it would certainly do for me just as it is. :wavey:

Thanks Keith. What this shot fails to show, and if I go back I will rectify, is the 6 jeeps, 6 canters, all vying for a better spot screaming kids, beeping fake shutters, phones and compacts going off 10 to the 12. One kid even jumped down from the canter and got a right telling off from the driver. It was a mess of huge proportions, but everyone has the right to see them I suppose. :wavey:

Yes you do have to put up with the scrum sometimes. But occasionally you get a mum and cub together for an hour by a water hole with no other jeeeps or canters in sight, bliss

Not sure if John was serious but he needs a private jeep as sharing a canter with 20 punters and sitting 8 feet off the ground would really pee him off
