Common Sandpiper

One from yesterday morning and photographed on my favourite dry stone wall, this time a Common Sandpiper. The Common Snipe were present, but I really wanted some more shots of this species and after a 4 hour wait the resident pair turned up and I managed a few images.

Thanks for the feedback on the Black Grouse shot and thanks for looking.

There are more shots on the blog for those interested.

Pretty cool Andy, the open bill & 'spit' makes the image. :toast: Is the background a portable one?

Thanks for the feedback guys, it is always appreciated.

Hi Steve, I'll leave the portable backgrounds to the Pros, mine is just a North Yorkshire meadow, though I must admit it does change colour as the seasons progress.

I will be checking it out over the next week or so Andy, I'm already up here. You must have the 'micro' climate overhead, light here has been mixed, shooting ISO 25000/3200, but hope the sun will be good tomorrow, need to be back in position around 5.45am and then settle in for the day.

Looks like you might get a light shower tomorrow according to Look North. :wavey:

Classic sandpiper image Andy, spit and all! Are all these posts from the same site? If they are you have a nice variety of species.

Nick. :wavey: :toast:  :jump:

Trying to think if I have missed any, but you have a rough idea of what is about.
