I would find it helpful if more people identified, under their name and avatar, where they are located. By clicking the "preferences" button and scrolling down to your signature block, you can easily add your location under your name. If you don't want to reveal too much, a state, region, or even just a country, would be helpful. At times people post pictures but then give no clue where the plant/animal/scene is located in the world which can be frustrating for the viewer. I realize it can be hard to always try to remember to give that information in your comments when posting. . .but if it's part of your signature, it's always there!
I do know some folks are hesitant to post exact locations of where a photograph was taken, and I support that. However it would be nice if a general location is given, because most of us are always interested in going to new places. Therefore, some location info is quite helpful.
To add to Carolyn's suggestion: If you are member of a NPN Regional Group, you might consider adding that affiliation to your signature, as well.
