Yeah, I caught that, Scott, but when one uploads a 1200 image, it should generate a 720 on this page, too. At least from what I understand. Or, it should have not posted an image of the first one here and just had the link to the larger version. like it used to, I believe. It doesn't really matter, but it seems repetitive to have a large one here and a link to a larger one, too. This one measures out at 1080 pixels and not 1200 on my monitor. Oh well, just odd.
Meanwhile back at the ranch, any input on the images? And, thanks for the notice on the changes as that might help those that didn't catch it.

Oops!, sorry about that Morris, I forgot about the critique, my mind wanders...
I have to say my two favorites are the flowers, #5 for the great color, vibrancy, and detail. #6 for the composition and perfect DOF with the bloom and lower part of the cactus in focus. My favorite of the 'Paint Mine' photos is #4, I like the various colors and the erosion lines, that image shows the essence of the area quite well.
You are right, the 1200p image shouldn't be in the post, only the link. It might be a glitch because this was posted in a forum rather than a gallery because I haven't seen this happen in any of the image galleries. I send an email off to Jim just to make him aware.
My favorites are also the beautiful flowers and 'Color Wave', which is the least representative of this place.
The light along the top 'crescent' and overall composition are real nice!
This place appears to be a real challenge to capture well in images. You did your best to come up with some creative compositions, but they just come up short for me.
I like this set much better than your last set shooting down from the rim.
Intimate compositions and details seem to work better than grand landscapes in this area.
My favorite is #4. I would darken the lower right corner to bring the exposure in balance with the rest of the image.
Well, if the monsoon gets rolling good enough, maybe you could get a shot of a wall of water rolling down those little canyons...
Neat set, Morris--as usual i like your macro stuff the best.
Good stuff, Morris! King Rock doesn't do much for me, but the other three Paint Mines images have a lot of appeal, and you handled the less-than-spectacular light very well. I wouldn't say these hit it out of the park, but I do feel like they're some of the more interesting images I've seen from the place. I'd say if you keep going back, you'll strike real photo gold soon!
I really like #4 Color Wave and my next favorite is #5 Desert Rose. #4 I like the curving line running up through the frame along with the color transition. On the other, nice color, detail and good choice on DOF. Nice work Morris!
Both flower shots are very likeable. The dof in #5 Desert Rose is good, and I like the combination of fresh and withered blooms with the prickly pear.
Of the paint mine images, I prefer #4 with its sickle curve. To me, the darker top above the point fights with the brighter bottom however. Perhaps a crop of the top and darkening the bottom as Bill suggested would work.

C&C always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Thanks, Stan, and I could see us getting some afternoon shots of this place with huge thunderstorms around. Maybe lightning, or even a tornado.
