Turnstone
D7000 500mm f4 ISO 200 1/1250s at f8 handheld resting on a rock.

Taken today at a nearby stretch of beach. I came across five Turnstones on my day off on Friday and realised they were in summer plumage. Of course no camera with me, DOH! Went back today and located three of them and managed to get a couple of half decent images. Not sure if they have come back early from their breeding grounds or just stayed here. Anyhoo I have never seen them in their summer finery so am pretty chuffed.

Many thanks for the comments on my Ptarmigan post, greatly appreciated as always.
