Got a pair of youngsters just emerged at the back of the farm a few days ago. They are starting to get used to us being there but as yet they will only let us get close when they are sat on a pile of old tyre's.
Just back from a cracking evening with two young foxes that Graham and I found over the weekend so look out for a post by Graham and some good stuff on his blog

I still can't work out what makes young Little Owls tick ! They reallyare the most amusing birds to watch. I,ve got two left the nest now but they go back in when alarmed at something.I have pics of the adults on every conceivable perch in the farm yard
- but not on tyres. !! Oh yes I think I have one on an old tractor job.
Great stuff Bob.
I was loosing interest in photography and forums fast, but the Little Owls kept me going I reckon. The farmer is so helpful too so it proves there are some genuine folks around. There are also some ****holes too. - I could write a book on the subject ! -maybe I will
Aaaaaah he looks tyred, his legs must be all rubbery! I like the comp with the inclusion of so many tyres and of course the light is spot on! Cute little thing!
JR, all my local farmers are extremely helpful with access, assistance and info. I have developed fantastic relationships with several of them over years and I regularly get invited to dinners and parties Recently I even got one of them to host the practical side of the scout photography badge for our local group
Of course it is a trade off as with most things. Doing the odd wedding for them, giving them pictures, doing shots for the various farms websites, free family portraits, horse & dog shots etc, etc

A unique setting, producing a fine image. Unusual settings would make a great project I feel.
The eyes really stand out in the different surroundings - and just shows how nature willingly adapts to the mess we humans leave behind us.
