Well, 2 days ago i dropped my 7D and 400mm/5.6L in water at a pond while photographing frogs. After more than 48 hours in a plastic container with silical gel and rice (i even unscrewed the lens mount to let more air in the lens), i decided to try my 400mm on my Canon XS to see if it would AF ???
Surprise, the AF works like new and the photos are as sharp as before, can't wait to try it on a 7D !!!

As for my 7D there is still trace of water in the VF so i will let it more days with rice, but i have less hope. I put the lens back with rice also to be sure it's completely dry !!!

Thanks for support and help.

Amen on the lens! My son's iPhone recovered a toilet cannonball after 7 days in rice. Keep that 7D in the rice field and change the rice every couple days. There is hope.

Are you saying the 7D is still working after being in the water!
