Cloud Over Mt. Evans
Took this almost as a snapshot (but with my good camera) while taking an out-of-town friend up to Mt. Evans back in June.

Just got around to looking at the shots and thought this one at least deserved a critique. Thoughts?

I like the lower half of the frame on this one - the combination of the cloud, ice and mountain are interesting. I don't think the upper half adds anything, however. I would consider a pano type crop and converting to black and white as well - if it were me :)

Les, I agree with the cropping. Also, the rocks in the bottom of the pool are distracting. B&W might bump the contrast & simplify the image. I think you need to ask yourself what your intent/vision was when you decided to make the photo and see if it conveys that to you.

Well, this is several notches above a snapshot! I like the idea of a crop down to the gray area between the two ice patches on the right edge (1 1/2 in. +/-). B&W? Hmmmmm....
Good eye for seeing this composition!

A fourth vote for the crop

The crop was also my first reaction before reading the comments.

Another vote for a top crop. Its pretty scattered, but different--i like it!

Played with a "standard" 2:1 crop and this non-standard (full-frame) crop and decided the full-frame had better leading lines and flow.

Thanks for the feedback, all..
