Funny thing happened on a trip to the North Rim. I got a late start out of Vegas and while grabbing a last minute item, I got a call from Doug Koepsel - the flow up on the Little Colorado was up. So instead of up the 15, I went down the 93 to the 40 to see this event.
Amazing - all I can say. This is a big falls!
Saturday was monsoon overcast - lots of flat light with promises of sunlight that never came. We decided to overnight. By 11 pm I could see the Milky Way as the moon began to rise from the east. At some point Doug went out to catch the moonlight. I hid until dawn.
It should be noted that the falls puts out a muddy mist that can be seen in the air several hundred feet away. My gear is going to need a serious cleaning.
This is a 'grand' place to be when the waters flow. #'s 1 & 4 aren't working for me too well because the foreground you chose seems to restrict the view of the falls rather than complement them. In that regard, #3 is more successful as is #2 (look to the north). I actually find the last to be my favorite for the interesting composition and subject matter.

Enjoy the quick pass through the collection.
A look to the north on Saturday.
Saturday night. Some color appeared on the horizon, but I decided to try a monochrome here.
