I took this photo in May, 2010 in central Illinois. Obviously this was a grab shot as the bird which was perched on a dead branch of a tree in a lake took off just as I got sighted on it. I think it is a hooded oriole, since I found a photo I took in Arizona which matches this birds color pattern. But, it is not listed in my birds of Illinois book. Any help will be appreciated, and again I apologize for the poor quality of the photo.

Might be a first summer male Orchard Oriole

Mia, there was an orchard oriole nearby, I think you may be right.

Orchard as Mia states

I just checked iBird Pro (expensive but necessary iPhone app) and it is definitely the male Orchard Oriole like Mia and Luke said. Guess I don't need iBird Pro as long as we have iMia and iLuke on NPN.
