Hi... here are some shots taken mid-day at Spray Park on Aug 6. Conditions are changing quick due to the heat. Mosquitos were tolerable with bug-juice. Elk and deer were spotted along the road to Mowich. A black bear was near the trail too.... according to excited hikers...I never saw him. I suspect the avalanche lilies may be peaking then will decline steeply...and soon. The Indian Paint, lupine and heather were sparse in a few clumps.
The snow melt tarns were good ... still with snow on banks on the upper reaches and drying up on the lower portions. These three show the variety. I love Spray Park as a day hike...even if the photos are mediocre. Enjoy.

I wouldn't call them mediocre. They may not have the best lighting or good cloud interest but they do show some of the beauty of the place. Thanks Ken!
That's a darn good show of avalanche lilies! Good comps, all, and I can see why you like to go there. Glad you got your trip in and thanks for showing us how it looks up there.

Nice set of shots Ken. I haven't made it to Rainier yet this year; maybe I'll be able to this fall. It's one of my favorite places.
