Snowy Range Sunrise
I was hoping this image was going to be a Perseids meteor image, but dang the Snowy Range was socked in with clouds most of the morning. And a LONG morning it was patiently waiting for a 45 minute window of clear sky.
Instead, this sunrise image was all I could salvage of a long day.

And for a change, a B&W. B&W seems to fit the Snowies better.

The color image is nice but the black and white has mucho impacto, Ken. The evergreens in the foreground assume some lovely luminosity in the monochrome version that isn't there in the color image. Pretty sweet!

Ya know, I think I like the B&W image a little better. I think it adds some drama to the scene that the color image can't match. This image is composed well, and processed well. Nice one Ken.

I also have a preference for the B&W version.

My plan was also to spend the weekend in the Snowies and catch the Perseid peak, but I ended up having to stay close to home. So, your overcast skies make me feel a bit better. :wavey:

This is a nice scene with good lighting that I feel works either way. Nice job on the comp.

Both are very nice shots. I like the b&w a touch better.

I'm really diggin' the B&W version! I would suggest a slight increase in contrast to boost the drama! :toast:
