Painted Hills Abstracts
Finally got out to shoot a bit last week, but it was so smokey that I opted for asbtracts. I did a couple at Painted Hills and explored but did not shoot the Stovepipe Wells area. I'm thinking about camping there and doing some night stuff.

Anyway, I know it's been a while, but feedback appreciated, as always.

Very nice interpretation of the colors. I like the opposing diagonals with the layers of vertical creases. I had the time of my life at Painted Hills back in May. Posted many in Landscape in case you didn't get to see 'em. And I'm already yearning to go back!

I love the layers here Marylynne! The diagonally layered hills, the drainage lines and the layered colors make an excellent comp. The colors there are incredible and you captured them well. Great image!

Thanks Steve and Catherine. Any suggestions for further processing, cropping?

This one is nice, but I much prefer the competing lines of your following shot.

Thanks, John. I initially liked the simplicity of layers in this one, but the zig zag is growing on me in the other. I've never seen the hills with such a rain wash effect like the other one had when I was there.
