For Florida registered voters only. If you’re a Florida resident, you’re probably already aware that funding for conservation in our state has been cut by 97%. This is tragic for the precious natural resources in our state. This is NOT political – this affects all people in the state of Florida, regardless of political preference. As nature photographers, I would hope we would take to lead in fighting hard for our natural resources.
Florida Water & Land Legacy is a group trying to put a constitutional amendment on next year’s ballot which will fund a trust to improve, restore, acquire, and manage conservation land and water. I don’t want to get too wordy here, but if you have an interest in learning more please visit http://floridawaterlandlegacy.org/for additional information. You can also volunteer to help the cause or donate funds to help on this page as well.
Enough Florida registered voters need to sign the petition in order for this amendment to be placed on the ballot though. This amendment will use EXISTING funds – in other words, NO NEW TAXES. Please thoughtfully consider signing this petition. You can pull up the petition here - http://floridawaterlandlegacy.org/pages/168/important-instructions-for-downloading-the-petition/. It’s very important to follow the instructions precisely in order for your petition to count.
If we all get involved, we can help our state retain the natural beauty and wonder that still remains! Many thanks for reading this and taking action!
