Osprey with Trout
Cropped about 10%. Taken at public lake (pond, really) where osprey have nested and produced young for several years.

Canon 7D; 1/400; 8.0; ISO 400; spot metering; Canon 100x400L at 400.

Nice. Was this at Steigerwald, east of Vancouver? If not, I've seen a similar osprey on a similar snag lunching on a similar fish. Great detail and lack of distracting foliage. Sky is blown, but heck, it was that or a dark, noisy osprey.

Love this shot with the trout, great job! Nice detail on the osprey and handling of the white feathers under tough lighting.

It is Myron Lake in Yakima. Three hatched this season and all appear to have remained in the area. Good fishing area (the lake is stocked by fisheries and the Naches river is close by).. The nest is on a telephone pole and has been there for several years. It is a pleasure to watch them, especially when they fish. I still have not got a good photo of that activity.

Excellent shot! Like Marylynne said, nice detail, especially with the high key background.
