Immensely cool Ned Fenimore! Would this be, say, SE of Mt Hood?

I like the portrait version - however it appears almost overexposed ? Too Bright ? And JPEG kompression is killing the karacter of this komposition....... but the image is great.

I like them both, Ned, but the both seem over exposed.

Thanks for the comments. Compression is hurting the detail in both. I did probably process them a little brighter than normal for web display. It's so hard to judge by a small jpeg, isn't it?

Awesome detail in the bark on them pines. The vertical comp shows it off better to my eye. Did you see Hoss and Little Joe out there?

I was thinking the needles were a little bright, but I like the exposure on the trunks. To me the bark carries more weight than the needles, so it doesn't bother me.

Nice shots Ned, they makes me want to go there. The exposure looks fine on my monitor here at work.

These look so Oregon. I actually love both of them, and I think your bark is really cool. They do look a bit on the bright side of the scale, but somehow that seems to help the brown texture pop nicely on the trunks.

Ned,
I really like this comp. Darken it a tad, as Mark suggested and it's a printer for sure!
This is the area I'll be hitting in snow next winter.

Both are really nice, Ned, but IMO the second is a tad better presented than the first. I agree with the others about darkening it a bit...
