Some good news for us fall shooters, from todays forecast discussion
by one of my coworkers: (id say it myself, but then id have to take the abuse if i end up wrong  )

WITH QUITE A BIT OF DEEP MOISTURE MOVING ACROSS...THE POTENTIAL FOR
QUITE A BIT OF SNOW AT MTN TOP LVL IS GOING TO BE RATHER HIGH. I
WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED BY NEXT WEEKEND IF MOST OF THE MTNS ABOVE
TREELINE ARE GOING TO HAVE A SOLID LAYER OF WHITE ON TOP OF THEM.
THIS WILL BE ESPECIALLY TRUE FOR THE MTNS ALONG THE CONTDVD...BUT
THE SANGRES AND PIKES PEAK WILL LIKELY ALSO SEE SOME DECENT SNOW AT
THE HIGHEST ELEVATIONS. /HODANISH

Great news! Nothing like snowy white peaks over aspen forests in fall foliage. Bring on fall!

From your Las Vegas advance outpost - its been a good slow rain this evening as remnants of a tropical storm spiral by. Given the humidity, I'd say moisture we feel here (and earleir in SoCal yesterday) is definitely going your way. Hopefully the white stuff sticks through the prime part of the month.

Lots of the liquid variety this week in Flag. Hope Colorado gets the snow as you (err, coworker) predict.

It's looking pretty good so far--will start checking the PP cam tomorrow!

Hearing the flooding news - not so good.

We continue to have rain every day here in Vegas - clouds are very gloomy. Its not monsoonal.

On the sort-of positive news... NWS spot forecasts are showing rain/snow mixes on the high peaks around Telluride this weekend. Maybe elsewhere.
