Mining Coal
Last weekend was a spent visiting new and familiar locations on the Navajo reservation with Tony K and Momo V. I have been to Coal Mine Canyon a handful of times, but Saturday evening afforded the best conditions of all those visits. A colorful sunset, orange sunlit rainfall, lightning, stars and moonlight. More images from the trip to Coal Mine Canyon are posted at the end the native gallery
9 Coal Mine Canyon Images

#1 Sunlight filtering though rain behind me produces an orange light in the canyon.
Thanks in advance for your comments and suggestions.

#2 Like at Bryce Canyon, the morning sun produces soft reflected light and backlighting on the spires

#3 Trying something a little different. A little greenish tint, but seemed to go with the mood. Interested in your thoughts on that.

A lightning image is posted in ESS.

So many great images in that collection! Glad you were able to capitalize so well on the good conditions. Some top-tier portfolio material IMO; particularly your Electric Coal. These three are great as well; #1 is my fav but looks like there's some easily fixable distortion with the horizon.

I think that my favorite from your series is 'Canyon Red'. Something about that one resonates with me.
I like the 'development' you chose for #3, but feel that you could lose most (if not all) of the sky.
Looks like you had a real fruitful trip (yet again)!
