Final destination on today's morning hike was Triple Falls - There are few places to compose a shot from (one unless you rappel down one of the cliff faces). This is hanging over the edge just to the right of the Oak tree that I'll include in a different shot later.

The classic, (only view), ! Water levels seem perfect for three distinct falls..

There has got to be a way to get down to the bottom of these falls!!!!
John,
This is a tough falls to shoot. I usually get a blue cast from the white balance being off on my camera. It happens when I shoot it in the evenings. It looks like you might have that same slight color cast. It looks like you were right on the edge when you shot this.
Erik, this was taken at 9am and yes, I was on the edge.... if I had a rope, I would have dangled
Blue cast is probably from the light Velvia emulation that I torture my photos with (and or the clear blue cloudless sky overhead).
I did see what appeared to be "potential" paths down to the river bed, but my legs were a bit worn and I didn't feel like putting the effort in to attempt this on this trip. Maybe another trip, but I'd probably bring a rope with me to help pull myself up when finished.... I tell ya, after spending a couple days really learning the gorge, my respect for the photos Marc (and Zack) posted has gone up quite a bit. One small mistake could be more than just a broken bone....
John,
although these falls are not my fav in the gorge because of their looking down-touristy type of feel...I think you did a good job of capturing them. I know from this angle, that you weren't actually playing Mr Safe either . I would like to get down there someday though...

Turned out a lot better than mine. I was all set up and some guy set up his tripod right in front of me so i ended up with this!
John, I think you did a great job capturing a falls that it seems everyone has trouble getting a decent picture of. However, I think Kevin got the keeper of the day!
Kevin, I hope you posted your picture in the Man and Nature gallery!
If you go up via Horsetail and Ponytail falls, you will come to this stream, (Oneonta), as it begins its plunge into the gorge. It is crossed by a short metal bridge, with a small falls there. Start hiking up the river there, and it'll take you right on up. You'll need to get wet though..
