I will be one of the presenters at the Focus on Nature Festival this weekend, and if any PNWNP members are attending please look me up and let's introduce ourselves in person. I'll also have copies of my new book, "Photographing Washington", if you're interested in checking it out.

The website for the Festival says that registration is closed, but I just heard from the organizer that walk-in registrations are ok, as long as you have cash. The festival was supposed to be a Tualatin River NWR, and due to the government shutdown they had to move it but their credit card machine is locked in an office at the NWR.

Thanks, Steve and Catherine. The Focus on Nature Photo Festival was quite well managed, despite the sudden need to change the venue due to Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge being closed due to you know what. I enjoyed the exchange with those who came to see my presentation, as well as catching part of some of the other workshop leaders. The keynote speaker was Stephen Johnson, and it was fascinating to see and hear him describe his involvement in the early days of digital photography, shooting with a 140 megapixel digital scanning back on a 4x5" large format camera and advising Adobe on the development of what became Photoshop.
