Everyone probably knows of the National Park closures. Unfortunately, All National Wildlife Refuges are closed for the duration as well. Locally, that is the Savannah NWR and Harris Neck NWR. Others would be:

Wolf Island National Wildlife Refuge
Tybee National Wildlife Refuge
Blackbeard Island National Wildlife Refuge
Wassaw National Wildlife Refuge
Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge

It is a crying shame that 535 idiots in Washington can have such an impact.

Can some one explain exactly what is being closed down, say at Blackbeard Island? Was there a few weeks ago. No employees there or at least anywhere close to us or other beach goers. So, government closes down and you can't boat to a vacant beach. I would really like to get in the face of the absolute IDIOT who makes those kind of decisions. Same with the other places that do not have employees except an occassional driveby by a ranger. I want to fire all 535 of them. How many of these events will we let happen before we rise and take our country back? Oh yeah, and they closed part of Biscayne Bay, an open waterway near Miami 'cause the water is a state park. EEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRR
