One of my favorite shots from this summer. For some reason I was able to get close to the ring-neck's this year, very handsome diving ducks.
With our recent rains the ponds and slough's at Ridgefield NWR should be filling. Reports prior to the govt. shutdown of the refuge said the annual flock of sandhill cranes was there, hopefully it will reopen so we can get some viewing in before they continue the migration south.
