I've never been to the Low Country, but it has loads of appeal since I've done lots of canoeing and photographing in the marsh areas of Louisiana and Mississippi. Since I no longer travel by canoe, I would like to travel around the area and do some shooting roadside, and even rent a flatboat and wander around in the marshes. Time of year is really not a factor, but I'm thinking that fall or spring might be my best options. I would love to hear your thoughts on some good destinations in the region. And if anyone has any good contacts for small motorboat rentals, that would be most helpful, as I know that lots of the really sweet spots for imagery are in the backwaters that cannot be reached from or near the roadside. I very much look forward to your responses.

Bill,
Where exactly do you have in mind going in the Southeast? I may be able to assist you. Renting a boat is not the best idea for a worth while trip. The equipment will be sub-standard with restrictions on were you can go. Plus you will not get the best results if you are unfamiliar with the area. Florida is always a sure bet for non-stop action and photo opportunities in the winter months. Check out my web-site and the touring page, I would love to show you some truly 'Sweet Spots' in the backwaters. Contact me if you would like to discuss planning a trip, I would enjoy the company.
