I paid a quick visit to the Gorge on Sunday and hiked the loop from Oneonta Gorge to Triple Falls to Ponytail Falls to Horsetail Falls. The bigleaf maple and vine maple are starting to show autumn colors, but right now the foliage is as much brown as the golden yellow we're all waiting for. This photo of Triple Falls should give you an idea of current conditions.

By the way, the giant log jam in Oneonta Gorge is still there. Let's hope we have a big runoff this year to bust through it.

Very nice image Greg! I've never been to Triple Falls. That's another location for my bucket list.
Thanks for the fall foliage update too!

Wow. There are a lot more logs at the base than when I was there.

John: some of the logs appear to be quite recent, judging by the color on the jagged ends of the breaks.
