Misty forest
Well, my 2 week national park tour with my boyfriend turned out to be a 2 day national park tour! Got in 2 rainy, sleety, snowy, cold days in Yellowstone, then the government kicked us out. Headed down to the Tetons to see what we could from the outer road, then the blizzard hit (although Jackson area only got 3-4" at road level). My poor boyfriend headed home without really seeing the parks (it was his first trip there) and I decided to head to Seattle and the Columbia River Gorge and road trip for a week. This turned out to be much less photographic than I anticipated, but I took a few shots I like. This is one of my favorites mostly because I love the evergreens of the western US. We just don't get views like this in Indiana!

Taken south of Mt. St. Helen off Hwy 503.

Very nice capture Amy, I've always loved watching as the mist goes through the trees, very ethereal...

Sorry to hear about your trip, I won't even get started about those imbeciles in DC. (Well maybe a little)

Amy, I like the textures. Have you tried it in B&W?

I'm with Monika here. The textures and shapes are terrific, but the color is almost an impediment. A careful b&w rendering really does justice to this work (I tried it  ),

Color doesn't bother me one bit. This is my kind of image!

I love the green color (my fave color), but how's this B&W?

The clouds look like they've lost some of their fluffiness. Maybe a tad strong on (I don't know what software you use) detail/clarity/structure on the clouds?

Both of those work very well, Amy. Really nice mood in the first and it translated very well into b&w.
