I upgraded to CS6 a while back. I went to the Adobe website and used their chat function to get instructions as to how to get the boxed DVD shipped to me. If you don't have an Adobe ID account, you'll need to create that first. The Adobe rep will likely try to get you to use Adobe cloud--be persistent and explain your situation.

Preston,
I have tried that both on chat and phone and they will no longer do a box version at all. Even most of their resellers won't sell a boxed version.
Thanks

Wow, Adobe has really painted their customers into a corner. You won't be able to find a dealer with a CS6 upgrade, because the upgrade to CS6 was ONLY available via Adobe's website, when it was available. You could buy the full version boxed at that time but not upgrades. I remember when they announced that, I thought, what's next, subscription software? me and my big mouth predictions, lol.
Your course of action would be to call Adobe again and see if you can at least buy the Product Key. If so, tell them you'll be back and then let's poll NPN for someone who has the installer file for the CS6 upgrade. I hope it's a real installation file and not a jumper to a big download. If it's a real installation file, it's not illegal to have someone make a copy of that and send it to you, you still need a key (in fact, that's how software makers are doing it now, when you buy Office 2013 you only get a Key, and a link to download the installer). Unfortunately I have the Production Premium CS6 Suite Upgrade, otherwise I'd send you the installer if you are allowed to buy the key from Adobe.
BTW, do NOT buy the package in the link you posted, that is for the Web Design Suite, and you will need the CS5.5 Suite in order for that CS6 upgrade to work. Straight Photoshop CS5.5 won't be an eligible version for that Suite upgrade they are selling.
Call Adobe back and press them, you'll be surprised with Adobe how you can get three different answers with three different phone calls. I'd tell them right up front that there's gotta be a provision for customers in the situation you're in with limited bandwidth on the webs, and if they can help you out you'll be happy to fill out the follow-up survey with high marks. It's uncanny how saying that gets you results not previously offered.

Discussion
4 repliesI am on satellite and cannot download that large of a file without blowing my quota and taking forever to download.
I found this site: http://www.dealerdealsdirect.com/product-p/65176928-65177113-upg.htm ; but a little leery.
If anyone has downloaded the above upgrade (5.5 to 6) can you tell me how large the file is?
Any suggestions or recommendations would be welcomed.
Thanks
